Hawaii Wing Provides Airborne PSA to West-Maui

(Maui, Hawai’i) On 13 August 2023 at 8:15 am, A Hawaiʻi Wing aircrew from Lyman Field Civil Air Patrol flew in a CAP aircraft from
Hilo International Airport headed towards West-Maui to broadcast a public service announcement over the CAP aircraft loudspeaker system informing listeners between the Kaanapali and Kapalua areas where residents could obtain food, water, and supplies at Napili Plaza in the aftermath of the Maui wildfires.
The announcement mission, in partnership with the Maui County Emergency Service Agency, was flown by Capt. Paul Hirst, mission pilot, and senior member Christine Sealing, mission observer.
Acting as a Total Force partner and official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, Civil Air Patrol helps First Air Force rapidly respond to nonmilitary threats domestically in a Defense Support of Civil Authorities capacity to save lives, relieve suffering, prevent property damage, and provide humanitarian assistance.
